My friends and family are always struggling to figure out what to get me for birthdays and Christmas. So I thought I’d put together a list to help people out. All the prices are a rough estimate of the cost + shipping + exchange in Canadian dollars.
High End
1. $265 
SX SJB-62CT Fretless Bass A nice instrument, A fretless bass would be a wonderful new challenge that would carry with it a very different sound. A hard shell case would be a reasonable accessory to add to this.
2. $150 
M Adio Fast Track Ausio Interface This thing lets me plug either a bass, mic or guitar and does analogue to digital conversion to let me put in a low noise signla into my computer. This will be a nice little device to help me get some better quality recordings.
3. $150 
Sure SM58 Need a microphone for recording some voice tracks. This one’s a higher-end one and would be ideal. I’m pretty sure that a middle of the road one would be ok, but if you’re going to spend $80, why not go all the way : )
4. $450 
Agile AL-2500 12-String I just love the sound of a 12-string : ) CSB - Cherry Star Burst please : ) A hard shell case would be a reasonable accessory to add to this.
5. $1500 
Rickenbacker 4003 JetGlo Mmmmmm Rickenbacker… Go listen to one, you’ll understand. Hardshell Case with this is a must, this thing is too beatiful to leave kicking around.
Reasonably Priced
Those are the top items on my list at the moment. Of course most of them are pretty expensive so here’s some of the other things that I’m in need of that fall in a more reasonable price range.
1. $40-$60 
DR Black Beauties - Black Strings to go on my black bass. My current strings are probably 8 or 9 years old and are showing it now that I’ve started to play again. Probably want some Mediums. Not sure what a local price would be on these. You can find them for $29.99 USD online so shop around if you’re trying to buy some.
2. $20 
Guitar Capo. Again, pretty much every music store will have one of these. I’d prefer the style shown in the picture as there are a bunch of different kinds.
