The all new 2007 Hyundai Elantra is a really impressive vehicle. For years, the Elantra has bene catching up to competitors in all segments, but the Elantra was one of its stars. I own a 1999 Hyundai Elantra and I have to say that it’s been a really great car over the years. As I approach the time to replace it, I’ve been pondering whether or not to pick up another Elantra as my next vehicle or look elsewhere. Although the Elantra had been catching up, cars like the Civic still stood as a better vehicle. But that’s changed.
With the 2007 Hyundai Elantra, Hyundai has brought in a very sleek elegant design and all the features you would expect out of a smaller sedan. The Elantra has a CVVT engine which holds its own up against the V-Tech. The CVVT has 2 less horsepower but has 8 lb-ft more of torque. I’m a big fan of torque. The Elantra comes in a shade cheaper than its major competitor at $21,695.00 with the GL Sport Auto package and the Civic compares pretty much on the button at $21,830 with the comparable LX Automatic package. Though it’s not there for the Elantra at the time of writing, you can check out Car Finder for the invoice pricing on these and other cars.
If you’re into sport compact tuners, then this is deffinitely the car you should be looking at. The Hyundais are extremely well built, providing a great platform to start from. You’ll also have the added bonus of being unique. How many Civics have you seen modded? You’ll see one on every block, half of them with the same parts. With and Elantra, you get the same quality base platform, but have something really unique to work with. If previous iterations are any indication, it shouldn’t be long before you find all kinds of mods for the 2007 Elantra at your favorite tuner shop or somewhere like Shark Racing.
The new Elantra really appeals to me from a styling perspective and when you add the ever increasing quality coming from the Hyundai factories, there are pretty good odds that all the 2007 Elantras will have a long healthy life on the road.

What are your opinions on the new 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX Sti

I don’t know much about that one in particular, but I do know that the Subarus are notoriously expensive to fix due to the all-wheel drive. Very few cheap parts available and even fewer garages outside the dealer who likes to work on them.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a car that would probably be a ridiculous amount of fun to drive and the all-wheel drive can come in really handy in the winter. I’d love to borrow one, just not own one. It also starts at $48 995. I haven’t shopped around in this segment much, but I’m pretty sure there’s much better bang for your buck at that base price.
My opinions though, and if you’re thinking of getting one despite the issues mentioned, then have a blast driving a car that packas a ton of fun in a nice package
