MXC is probably one of the greatest things on TV if you like watching people voluntarily getting themselves hurt.
Well ABC’s knocked it off for this summer with Wipeout and I have to say that the course looks pretty awesome. While it seems to be a little “softer” on the surface, things move faster and are bouncier leading to some pretty intense looking wipe outs.
I think it’s a shame that they’ve knocked it off with regards to the hosting approach. They will undoubtedly fail in their attempts to fill the huge shoes of Vic Romano and Kenny Blankenship. These guys are amazing and if you haven’t seen MXC, make the time.
You know a lot of people complain about TV networks not having any original ideas, but at least when they’re ripping of things I like such as The Office and MXC, it’s hard for me to get too upset about it.
Now if only we could find a way to get someone to do a rip-off of Junkyard wars…
P.S. For those of you who really enjoy Kenny Blankenship, you’ll be happy to hear that he’s now been immortalised in a tissue box and was elected governor of Miyazaki prefecture in 2007.

Man I can’t get enough of MXC. It is just too funny. I haven’t seen the new one, but I agree with you already. I don’t see how you can pass up the original hosts of the show.
