Google Adsense Gets The Heave-Ho

November 6th, 2006 · 1 Comment · Web Development

After several months of exceptionally poor performance, I’ve decided to ditch Google Adsense off of this blog. Adsense is doing ok over at About A Webmaster, but it’s just never really taken off on this site. I’m fairly sure that it has to do with the ad-blindness of blog readers combined with naturally low CTR of many of the topics that I cover here and having an untargetted website overall.

So for now, I’ve turned to a link brokerage service. I’m going to have to see how it works, but the initial pitch is enticing. I’m not sure what their ad inventory looks like though. The ad inventory looks a little thin to me initially, but I’ll really have to wait and see. I’ll hold off on plugging the advertiser until I see results. There is a thinly veiled warning from Google about link brokers but since I can’t make a dime using their program, I am forced to turn to other methods of generating revenue.
