I’ve put together an article on the basics of search engines at About A Webmaster. I found that it took me a while to put it all together when I was learning about these kinds of things. I’m hoping to put together a few of these basic primers. Hopefully they’ll be a nice starter for people getting started. I’ve been getting a lot of referrals that suggest that a lot of visitors want to become webmasters.

I’ll shortly be through my backlog of articles and will start writing some fresh material again. Recently I was able to attend a lecture that covered a lot of usability issues from Google’s perspective. Though the lecture itself got mixed reviews from some people I spoke to, the webmasters seemed to get it. There were a pile of gold nuggets hidden within the lecture that had huge implications on web development embedded within the lecture. It’s still all swirling around in my head and I’m hoping that writing the articles will help me straighten things out in my head so that I can apply what I’ve learned properly.
