Golden Rule Travel

I think it’s fair to say that travel is one of the markets that’s been rocked to its core with the expansion of the Internet. There’s been a decrease in the bricks and mortar travel agencies in the last few years and some of that can be attributed to the Internet agencies that offer more for less.

But we’ve moved passed the more for less stage. The prices are generally quite low, so now you need to do more in order to find your place in this very competitive market. One of the trends that we’ve seen across the web is that after a service is refined, it goes vertical, catering to smaller niches. Well that’s what Golden Rule Travel has done.

Golden Rule Travel is an organization that specializes in missionary travel. They’ve carved themselves a very specialized niche that wouldn’t be able to get everything it needs from a regular travel agency. Traditionally, missionaries and tourists go to very, very different places. That’s not to say that the two groups never cross paths, but the things a missionary needs in terms of travel arrangements is normally significantly different from a regular traveler. So, much as a travel agency likes to hire people who have traveled a lot to help out customers, Golden Rule Travel has a number of former missionaries on staff. They are the kind of people who know the ropes and can provide essential information that won’t be in any of the books that you’ll read.

They also have special contracts with airlines for missionaries which can be helpful since many missionary trips takes people to remote locations that require multiple flights and often multiple airlines.

Working into a niche is nothing new, but it’s important to look at just how specialized this particular niche is. Look at all of the excellent extras that Golden Rule Travel offers that others simply can’t. That’s what catering to a niche is really about.

I support this mission! Currently I think missionaries are having great difficulty on the expenses of travelling and someone is finally heeding His call!
