Getting engaged is a big deal. Most people don’t take it lightly and it can get downright stressful for many. That’s why it’s nice to have some humour about engagement rings over at J.R.Dunn’s Jewelry Blog.

The idea of someone trying to pass off cubic zirconium as a diamond is funny in and of itself. But for your engagement? Are you nuts?
The stereotypes surrounding engagements are sometimes ridiculous and sadly enough, sometimes accurate. For example I don’t think that many guys are dumb enough to try and pass of a CZ as a real diamond engagement ring. Unfortunately there are a lot of guys that think proposing at a sporting event is a good idea. Don’t get my wrong, if your lady’s a huge fan of the team, then that might make sense. But that’s not usually the case. Which leads in to:
4. She wanted a round diamond and you bought a marquise, you like it better.
You have to listen to her to find out what she likes, otherwise, you’re going to have a very, very, very hard time. I consider myself pretty good at knowing what she likes, and in reality, I’m terrible at it. So if you think you’re bad at it. You better get to work

People do it all the time! I have guys that ask me “hey man do you think she will know” Youd be suprised at how many actually do.
