The Chickenburger is one of those places. You know, those places that you have to go see if you go visit Halifax, but won’t necessarily be in any tourist information guide. There’s just one problem though, when most people go there, they don’t know what to do. There’s a mass of humanity in front of the place and it’s kind of hard to tell where you should line up. So here we go people, this is the strategy.
There is no line
That’s right, shocked as you may be, there’s just no line. So if you’re looking for a place to line up, you’re going to have a long wait. So what do you do when there’s no line?
Walk up to the counter
You’ll normally see a whole bunch of people waiting 4-6 feet back of the counter, all these people have already ordered. Don’t feel rude walking in front of them to get to the counter, they’re not waiting to order. If they are, they’re new and they’ll benefit from watching you do it right.
Someone will ask, “Can I help who ever’s next?”
Go for it. If you wait back and look around waiting for someone to say, “I’m next.” someone who got there after you did will move in and get served before you. That being said, have a bit of sense about it. If you see a lot of people who are obviously trying to order and were there before you, offer some courtesy. We’re all nice people around here 
No, you don’t get a number
Once you’ve placed your order, you might be wondering how you’re going to get your food since they don’t call out numbers. Don’t worry, the staff is trained to recognize faces and they’ll remember you. After you’ve placed and paid for your order, step back 4-6 feet around the poles that prevent cars from parking too close. Then enjoy the sun, keep an eye out for the person who took your order since they’ll be bringing your food and take in the smells of the great food they make.
Grab your food, you’re done
Your server will have your food ready and start looking for you. It’s easiest if you’re waiting just behind where you ordered and you make eye contact, but if things don’t work out that way, don’t worry. They’ll find you. Now you can enjoy their great food.
It’s just that simple. While it can be an intimidating adventure the first time if you’ve never been before, you get used to the way things work fairly quickly. Following these steps should make your first experience at the Chickenburger a less confusing one
