This is a piece of work I like to call “Experience Materialized”. It’s hard to quantify experience. There are all kinds of slogans, sayings and quotes that try to turn it into something tangible, but they never really get it right. This, to me, stands as a monument to a big lesson learned. When you know how to do something right and you choose not to in order to get it done faster, bad things happen.

This drill bit is now welded into this piece of aluminum round stock that was to become one of the hubs for my robot. There it shall stay to remind me that if you want to go fast, go slow and if you know how to do it right, for the love of God, do it right.
