Almost So Simple A Caveman Can Do It

July 26th, 2007 · No Comments · Web Development

I tested out a new plugin that automatically updates your wordpress install. The whole point of the plugin is to make those occasional updates just a little bit simpler. All in all the process was fairly straightforward, though there’s still room for improvement.

I found the step by step clicking a bit more of a pain that I’m looking for in this. Once again, I went to Wordpress to get rid of the hassle in maintaining a site by hand. I’m looking for Caveman simple here :) I understand why each step is there and I think they made reasonable choices, but I’d like to see a really easy update plugin by the same authors that automates everything even further. Make it a one-clicker.

The only thing that didn’t go smoothly for me was the re-activation of my plugins. It didn’t quite re-activate all of them. Probably a 75% success rate though. That’s not that bad.

If you hate the hassle of a Wordpress update, check out the plugin and see what it can do for you.
