Cardaccept.com is a company that deals in Internet credit card processing. But they don’t restrict themselves to dealings with websites. They offer their processing service through a variety of options such as wireless credit card machines, card processing through cell phones, regular retail terminals and more.
The one that caught my attention though was the wireless credit card processing. More specifically the option to process with a cell phone. They offer a list of jobs that could make benefit of such a service and I have to say that as a consumer, I’d love to see it being used. I know when cabs started taking credit cards it was a nice luxury to have. That way I knew that no matter what I could always take a cab if I needed to, whether I had cash on me or not. I’m also a fan of the protection that credit card companies offer when you buy through them. Something like that would be great for home repair, plumbers, electricians, etc…
They’re very up front with the details of their pricing which is always nice to see. With a product like this though, it’s vital to have a clear grasp on what the per-transaction costs are. Overall I found the site to be very up front with everything. If you’re checking out a cell phone to use as a wireless credit card terminal, they’ve got a small web form to show you which phones will work.
While I’m not a big fan of the layout, I like some of what they’ve done on the front page. There are a bucket-load of calls to action right there. The testimonial is nice, though it could be shorter considering it’s on the front page. The list at the bottom is great though, very punchy bulleted items. From a marketing perspective, they’ve got their front page well done. From a design perspective… It could use a bit of prettying up
That being said, design is always subjective. Beauty is in the eye of your screen’s resolution…
Overall I think Cardaccept.com has a very interesting product that merits investigation. Think about your business. How could processing a credit card on the spot with a cell phone help you?
credit card, wireless
