Motivational Articles

Andreas Bard is a young entrepreneur who’s been blogging for a little over a year now. His log tends to be a bit of a mishmash similar to mine, but one underlying theme that you can find through is the motivational articles for entrepreneurs.

These motivational articles cover lots of issues and cross paths with some of the topics that I cover here whether directly or indirectly. Take for example his article on self discipline. In the world of the web, self discipline is a must. But not only is it hard to achieve, it’s hard to maintain. While I’m completely comfortable with the notion of responsibility that he covers, I do tend to get lost with my goals. As time wears on, I either forget or get new goals in a very unorganized manner. The result is a slip in discipline. Even if you feel you’ve got excellent self discipline, reading something like brings your mind back into that head space so that you can remember all of the things you think you know ;)

Handling criticism is one of the things that I struggle the most with. Feeling like I’ve made the right decisions is very important to me for some reason and criticism, even provided in the most constructive manner is a blow to that need. While his article covers a very sensible and logical way to deal with the issue, handling criticism often needs to happens in brief spurts of time where you can’t go through all of the logical reasoning. While all of the advice is sensible, it really doesn’t help you deal with that immediate reaction to the perceived attack. That being said it’s probably something that we each need to figure out on our own.

Ah, starting a healthier lifestyle… It’s something we’d all love to have, but so few are willing to work towards. One point that I disagree with is that the mind should be tackled first. I agree that the better eating habits should proceed the exercise, but without a committed, focused mind, you’re likely to falter and regress to your previous couch potato state. I know it’s happened to me a bunch of times. The few times where I feel I’ve been somewhat successful are when my mind has been sharp and focused on the task.

All in all, Andreas has a well written blog that covers a lot of ground. There’s likely something there for you if you have any entrepreneurial spirit in you whatsoever :)
