When I became a dofollow blogger, I did it out of contempt for the system. I was frustrated at how difficult to was to get backlinks as a blogger. I kept seeing all kind of links with my name on them but for a number of historical reasons the nofollow attributes meant that there would be no link love for me.
Then I started finding small lists of do-follow bloggers. I checked out their blogs, commented on a few and sort of forgot about the whole thing for a while. Then I found that my blog had made it onto one of the larger lists of dofollow blogs currently available. Big deal right? I got one backlink out of it. Not so fast, suddenly as time goes by, people are not only using the list, but they’re copying the list. I’m slowly acquiring sporadic backlinks from all over the place which is the best kind of link building from where I sit. Sure it’s great to get a whole heap of them all at once, but slow growth shows better patterns than a flash in the pan.
So if you want to join the revolution, go get the dofollow plugin, and add yourself to the list of dofollow bloggers.

I just added my blog to the DoFollow movement, I really think it’s a great way to build community.

Don’t you just love logging into your admin panel and seeing all of those new links coming in?

Steve: Welcome to the club! It is indeed a great way to build a community. The dofollow blogs just give that extra bit of incentive to post a comment
Bucky: I sure do, it’s the best part of my day

I didn’t much like the idea of dofollow blogging at first, but ultimately I do want people reading and commenting on my blog, so I think I’ve just changed my mind!
I’ll be installing the dofollow plugin in the near future.

Awesome
Glad to hear you’re signing up to the cause. At the end of the day the nofollow was brought in to try to stem the spread of spam. We’ve got better tools today like Akismet and other spam fighting systems. The nofollow attribute has long outlived its usefulness and it’s time for all of us to get back to our community based roots.

Glad to see that so many people have joined this movement. Our site has recently joined it as well.
I didn’t even know there was a nofollow tag until my partner installed the plugin and I’m glad that he did it.

Welcome to the club Aimee
It is unfortunate that it takes a while before people even become aware of the nofollow attribute. Fortunately there are now a lot of people talking about it so we can hopefully spread the word further every day

I totally agree. I think some commenters deserve recognition for their comments, expecially if they contribute significantly. I think it’s been proven that the no follow tag does not neccessarily limit spam.

That certainly has been proven Julie
I think we’ve all cleared out thousands of spam messages from our Akismet queue.

Hey Hobo, thanks. I’ve been on board for quite some time now though
Bumbpzee looks neat, but I’m already involved in too many systems for my own good at the moment.
