I just read an article that the US Business Review wrote on prosper learning beck in August 2006. The US Business Review is published by the Schofield Media Group which specializes in B2B magazines.
The article itself is very well written and covers a lot of ground. Prosper learning is a strategy to post secondary learning that I’ve never some across, but find intriguing. The difference is that rather than sending you a canned course, they send an industry specialist who’s active in the industry to help you custom tailor your course. They’re largely focused in online investing, marketing and e-commerce.
The article mentions some of their success stories which I found particularly well done. Some time you read success stories and they’re way out there. I find these to be rather believable stories and that really helps the whole article gain more traction.
While this type of training will certainly carry a significant tuition bill, they don’t seem to be in it for a money grab.
students are offered enrollment through an invitation-only process to ensure each person is fully committed to the program and motivated to achieve their goals.
The fact that they are selective on their students is a nice bonus. It shows that they’re more interested in maintaining a good reputation rather than cashing in as quickly as possible. Those are all signs of an institution thinking long term. I’m a fan of long term thinking.
