Toys For The Cat

April 2nd, 2007 · No Comments · Halifax

We stopped by Petcetera to check it out. They just opened a new store in Dartmouth Crossing, which is really starting to take shape as a shopping destination. They had a grand opening sale and couldn’t help but splurge a little for our cat. We picked up a cat spa and a fountain for her too. She took to the spa immediately loving the comb-like things on the base. She loves them since she can rub her face up against them and poke at her teeth a little too.

The fountain took some time. It’s extremely quiet, with the trickle of water being about as loud as the pump, but I could tell she was apprehensive about it. She has started drinking from it though. She first tried licking the running water from the dome like the cat on the box. Then she went over to the pool on the side and drank from there. From what I could tell she preferred the pool. Probably because she can get more water at a time from it as compared to the thin film running over the dome. The manufacturer makes a smaller one that’s only the dome and I have to say that in hindsight I’m really glad we got the bigger one because it has both the dome and a pool, giving her the choice to drink as she pleases.

We also took a crack at a cardboard scratcher, but it’s not really working out as well as we’d hoped so we’re still going to need to figure something out there…
