I have just read through 43 Must-Know Tips (and Resources) for Every First-time Home Buyer. I like what they’ve done. First off, they’re taking on the tried and true method of writing an article with a catchy title. People love to read articles in the style of “## tips on topicofchoice”.
Another point of interest is that while 43 tips is a little bit daunting, they’ve ordered them in a chronological order. That means that you can just read the relevant chunk depending on what part of the buying process you’re in.
Unfortunately, as is often the case, this article sacrifices depth for breadth. While it covers a lot of bases, it doesn’t really cover anything in any amount of depth whatsoever. The upside of this is that you can at least reach the point where you know what you don’t know. That can help to prepare you for the further research that you’ll tackle later on.
So while this article may not be the be all end all for new home buyers, it’s certainly a good place to start. Once you go through it, you should have a better grasp on your bearings so that you can continue on with further research.
