King Nomar’s blog is a Web development Blog. While there are a number of web development blogs out there, everyone brings their own perspective to the table. One of the things that Nomar does that I haven’t delved into is buying websites. He wrote a post on this about an arcade website he just bought.

The advantage to this approach is that you don’t need to spend anywhere near as much time in the development stage. There’s risk involved but if you pick up a website for $50 that has anything on it at all, it’s pretty hard to go wrong. He’s written a follow up post exuding confidence that it was indeed worth the $50.

He’s also written a post about his February earnings post and I think this is one of his best posts. Why? It’s simple, while seeing monthly earnings posts of $7000 like other successful bloggers have can be inspiring, they’re rarely relevant to the smaller blogger. Nomar’s web properties are growing and he is in a position that a great deal of new bloggers are in. That means he’s sharing very valuable information that’s really hard to get a hold of. Everyone’s proud of their earnings once they’re huge, but few people bother going into the details that Nomar has gone through in this post for smaller amounts. New bloggers are starving for this kind of information so that they can have some sort of measure to compare themselves against. We all want to know whether or not we’re doing well and following Nomar’s story is as good a measure as any if you’re just getting started.

One thing that I’d like to see improved is Nomar’s statistics. Webalizer’s an ok tool that’s often made available for webmasters, but in my experience I’ve found awstats to be much, much better. The them is also a little stale. I’ve seen this Wordpress theme in use a lot and I find it a little boring now. That being said, my blog’s in need of a cosmetic overhaul as well so I can’t complain too much :)

If your looking to find out more about Nomar, go check him commenting at John Chow’s. Though he’s not there at the moment, he has often been in the top 10 commentators. He’s a great example of getting out there and participating in broader communities to help develop your own.

So go check out King Nomar’s blog and see if he has any articles that can help you. There’s something for all budding web entrepreneurs there, go find what he’s written for you.
