While not an “update” per say, it’s still vital for everyone to update anyways. The update is actually just a known code base. The Wordpress codebase got some unwelcome additions due to unauthorized access. While it’s a bummer to have to upgrade yet again, the good news is that there shouldn’t be any concern about anything not working after you update.
So go update now. It won’t take long.
