Programmer & Web Developmer Forums

Dream.In.Code is a community of programmers and web developers numbering over 20 000 at the moment. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my life as a programmer is that it’s important to have somewhere to go when you’re stuck. Sometimes you just get stuck in away that a set of fresh eyes can quickly pick up where you’ve gone wrong and you can get underway again.

Dream.In.Code has forums ranging from web development, PHP, databases and all kinds of other very useful topics. You’ll be able to find someone with the answer you’re looking for regardless of what you’re working on.

They have more than just forums to offer though. Have you been looking for Java code for a simple web browser? You’ll find it in their code snippet section. Code snippets can help you get through a rapid prototyping stage by allowing you to re-use what others have done.

To help foster the growth of their community they’re offering free magazines like Dr. Dobbs and Queue. I’ve never read Queue but was big into Dr. Dobbs when I was in my undergrad. It’s a pretty cool magazine :) They’ve also got free t-shirts for members with over 500 posts. Just for fun, they’ve got monthly draws for 1GB thumb drives for members. These are all great ideas to help foster growth and a sense of community.

So go drop by and check them out. See if they have what you’re looking for. Ask some questions that you may have. They might just be the right community for you.
