Dougal has written a great post about the no-follow tag and how it is no longer really needed in Wordpress. Of particular note is the plugin he’s using which allows you to disable the nofollow on comments older than x days. It comes set to 0 days out of the box which means that it will get rid of all nofollows. Dougal has his set to 2 days for the few spammy things that makes their way through the spam filters.
I’m really happy to see us emerging from the dark days of the nofollow attribute. It wasn’t a good idea when it started but nobody really had any alternative solution. Now we have the right tools for the fight, let’s get rid of nofollows.
