Like many people out there I have some occasional back problems. Back problems are a very interesting set of issues because they have such a significant impact on your life. Mine came from a specific acute incident. I proceeded with physiotherapy and that got me much of the way back to a healthy back but not 100%. One of the things that continues to be suggested over time is a chiropractor.
The New York Physical Therapy Office covers some of the complexities of lower back problems on their website. I’ve found it absolutely amazing to see just what can make a huge difference. For all of the physiotherapy I went through (which was necessary and very helpful) I made equal long term gains by altering two bad habits. I moved my wallet from my back pocket to a front pocket. That got rid of 50% of my ongoing pain. Then I ended up getting a new chair for my office and that got rid of just about the remaining 50%. As such I’ve been able to avoid going to a chiropractor. I don’t know why I’m so hesitant to go but there are lingering stories about bad things happening that bother me. That being said I know someone very close to me who has gone to a chiropractor and it has been a tremendously positive experience.
