Nissan Skyline Forum

Coming in 2008, Nissan will offer the Skyline in the US. It’s been available in Japan for a long time, but has been very difficult to get a hold of on this side of the ocean. The car’s expanded availability is wicked news for car fans in general but particularly drifters as the Skyline is a favorite in that sport.

To support the new community spawned by this announcement, a set of Skyline GT-R forumshave been started up. This exemplifies exactly what I was talking about a while ago. They are starting early in order to capitalize as much as they can on this opportunity. The car will likely only start to show its face in late 2008, but by that time they will have a well established community of people who have an interest in the 2009 Skyline and will be available every time some new buzz about the car turns up.

My car of choice is the 2008 Challenger and every time I want to show it to someone I always end up on the same fan sites because there aren’t many manufacturer pages out yet. Once the car comes out, there’s a better chance of manufacturer info, but by that time, the fan pages will have been well established and firmly planted in the search engines.

The Skyline forums will not only have that going for them, they’ll likely have a thriving community of people firmly entrenched as well. Congratulations to the Skyline Forums team on your budding community. I wish it all of the best.
