I thought of a virtual mall many years ago. It seems like a neat idea at first, but I just can't see it really working out. I wish you the best of luck with it all, but it's really just a matter of user effort.

It's so much easier for a user to navigate the web with their mouse clicking links than it is to go through your virtual environment. Granted, you've got a simple interface that somewhat easy to understand, but it's still a lot harder to use than a search engine or directory of links.

Just a little fyi. I've got a new site that will help the small business owner compete in the international market. It's called Popwebcity.com and it is an online virual mall. Basically, the store owner and have a duplicate of their store front within the mall and shoppers can go in and out of the store, while picking up items that line the shelves and place them in their shopping cart.
It's kinda of like a video game with chat for friends who want to shop together.
Thought you might like to check it out, as at $35 per month, this would definately be able to help the small business owner.
