Coming Spring 2007, Test Freaks is going to help you find all of the reviews of hot consumer electronics. Right now they’ve got mobile phone reviews, TV reviews and camera reviews.
From what they’ve got up there it does show some promise, but it’s all going to hinge on the results of the reviews. If you look at the top review sites out there, what separates them from the junk is the facts that they put out there and the fact that they’re willing to give bad reviews. Some review sites avoid bad review like the plague because then the manufacturers won’t send them free stuff anymore. If those results float to the top of their review engine, then the site really won’t be helpful. But if they are able to get the really good reviews and pull them out, making them easier to find, they could be a huge success.
For now, they’re looking to drum up some buzz and get established, which fits in line with my previous post about getting a website started early. It’s a very good example of what I suggest in that post.
