So you’ve built your fabulous double-opt-in mailing list, have a bunch of people who are interested to hear what you have to say and are set to get started. Now what?
Well obviously, you’re going to have something to say to these people and that’s great, but if you look to your website as a learning tool, communication is only somewhat effective when it’s one-way. You’ll also remember from your early days that metrics are a must to improve and tailor your message.
iContact can do that for you.
iContact offers you all kinds of mailing list management features, allowing you to know who you’re sending your message out to, who’s reading it, even if it’s getting forwarded on to other folks. That’s great information if you’re going to take your very valuable mailing list seriously.
One of the black marks that this entire industry has is spam. So it’s very important to work with a company that is serious about this problem. iContact has a strict anti-spam policy for their e-mail marketing tool, canceling any account that is sending spam.
Now everyone promises lots, but whether or not they can deliver is always a question. Thankfully, before you sink any amount of funds into iContact, you can try them out with a 15 day free trial of their email marketing solution. Then at $10 a month afterward for their starter package, you can even keep trying it out for a pretty low investment.
They have a great introductory video to their email software to help you get a better feel for just how it works and what it’s like. If it sounds like something that you need, give it a whirl and see if it works for you.

So they can track an email, even if it is forwarded? That sounds foolproof – If you use it, you can be sure you’re getting what you were promised, in case you buy into a list. That’s assuming these guys don’t have their own list?

This the first time I have heard something about icontact, it seems a little like Aweber, no?

Good thing they don’t allow spammers. First it’s couple spammers, then some plugins and before you know it all spam looks like your email. And that’s not good.

iContact is a pretty reputable mailing list solution. I think they are probably AWeber’s biggest competitor. For $10/month I would definitely give them a try.

I’ve been looking for something like this for a while, so I’ll give it a go. I’ve seen some free options out there but I don’t know if I trust them.

Till today Aweber was the ONLY one everyone could really rely on. Good to know there is an alternative.

I love this as well, not MailChimp or iContact persay but how people by one another’s keywords. Funny thing is I can share some ads Bronto ran some time ago to that affect…. and we did as well with words like “Exact Target” – Exactly Missing Your Target with your email marketing solution? You might want to look at eroi.com…” fun times. It was short lived but fun none the less.
