Jay Wells Hair Salon

December 5th, 2006 · 3 Comments · Halifax

Jay Wells Salon – (902) 422-3532

This one I’m writing for me. Every time I Google Jay Wells Hair Salon I come up empty and have to re-formulate my query to include Halifax and then read their phone number out of a snippet. No more!

That’s where I go to get my hair cut. My hairdresser (odd name really… I don’t go there for hats) works at Jay Wells and he’s the only person I’ve let cut my hair in a long time. When I first came to the city, I made the rounds of a bunch of places but I never likes how my hair turned out. Then I went to the hairdresser that my then girlfriend, current wife, was using at Sykea. The cut came out perfect and I actually got a lot of compliments on it. I was sold. I continued to go there until one day I called for an appointment and they said he was gone. I was a little bummed as I pondered another round of hunting for a hairdresser, but they told me that he had just gone to another salon and gave me the phone number to reach them. I’ve been a happy customer ever since.

Those of you who’ve seen me and my shaggy head these last few weeks would probably be surprised to know that I care that much about my hair since it doesn’t look like it on a day to day basis. But that’s exactly the point. I get a good looking haircut that’s very manageable and doesn’t need any hassle in the mornings. It a bit more effort and hassle for the cut, but then I don’t have to worry about it until it gets to be the size of a small helmet.

Jay Wells only worked at Christopher Cromwell Salon and Spa, he NEVER worked at Sykea!

It almost sounds like you’re talking about Jason Gilbert.

“works at Jay Wells”, I didn’t say he was the owner.

It’s unbelievable how nowadays people don’t have enough confidence to cut their hair themselves. Of course, it’s always good to leave the job to the professional, but learning something new is a great experience.

Glad you have a trusted hairdresser.
